Gambling is Entertainment — Not a Financial Plan

97pak is an English-language sports betting and live casino information platform for Pakistani users. We cover everything from Pakistan cricket bilaterals and PSL T20 events through to ICC tournaments, FIFA football, UFC fight nights and live dealer casino tables. We enjoy providing that coverage and we want you to enjoy using the platform.

But we are clear-eyed about one fact: gambling involves real financial risk. The house edge on casino games is real. Losing streaks in sports betting happen to everyone. No betting system — whether you are placing PKR 500 accumulators on cricket or PKR 25,000 on a live roulette table — eliminates the possibility of loss. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you.

Responsible gambling means staying in control: setting limits before you start, sticking to them when you are on a run, and knowing when to step away. The tools on this page exist to help you do exactly that. They are built into the 97pak platform and accessible directly from your account dashboard — no need to raise a support ticket or wait for a callback.

Built-In Responsible Gambling Controls

Every 97pak account includes these tools as standard. Access them at any time from your account settings — no form, no waiting period and no questions asked.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much PKR you can deposit into your 97pak account. Once set, a reduction takes effect immediately. Any increase to a previously set limit is subject to a mandatory waiting period to protect you from impulsive decisions made in the heat of a session.

Available Now
Loss Limits

Define the maximum amount you are willing to lose over a set period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your net losses reach the limit you have specified, the platform will automatically block further wagering until the period resets. This is one of the most effective tools for preventing chasing-loss behaviour.

Available Now
Session Time Limits

Set a hard time limit on individual play sessions. When the limit expires, the platform will notify you and — depending on your settings — may log you out automatically. Reality checks at configurable intervals remind you of how long you have been playing and how much you have wagered or won or lost during the session.

Available Now
Self-Exclusion

Voluntarily exclude yourself from 97pak for a defined period — 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or permanently. During an active self-exclusion, your account is disabled, marketing communications are stopped and you cannot create a new account. Contact our support team to activate self-exclusion immediately.

Contact Support
Reality Checks

Periodic on-screen notifications — at intervals you define — that display your session duration, total amount wagered and current net position. These brief interruptions are designed to break the flow of play and give you a clear, factual snapshot of your session so you can make an informed decision about whether to continue.

Available Now
Cooling-Off Period

Not ready for full self-exclusion but want a break? Request a short cooling-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. During this period your account is suspended and deposits are blocked, giving you space to step back without committing to a longer exclusion.

Understanding Your Account Limits

Reducing a Limit

Reducing any existing limit — whether it is a deposit cap, a loss threshold or a session time — takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period. We want players to be able to tighten their controls the moment they decide they need to.

Increasing a Limit

Any request to increase a previously set limit — for example, raising your weekly deposit cap — is subject to a mandatory waiting period (typically 24–72 hours depending on the limit type). This cooling-off window is intentional: it prevents players from overriding their own protections impulsively during a session.

Removing a Limit

A limit that has been in place can only be removed after the same waiting period as an increase. Once you have set a responsible-gambling limit, we take that decision seriously and build in friction before it can be reversed.

Self-Exclusion is Final for Its Duration

Once a self-exclusion is activated, it cannot be reversed before the chosen period ends. We will not process requests to lift a self-exclusion early. Permanent self-exclusion is irreversible. This is by design: the protection only works if it cannot be undone on a whim.

All Limits Are PKR-Denominated

Deposit and loss limits are set and enforced in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) — the same currency your account balance is displayed in. There is no currency conversion guesswork. If you set a PKR 10,000 weekly deposit limit, that is the exact amount enforced, regardless of any exchange-rate movements.

Signs That Gambling May Be Becoming a Problem

Problem gambling can develop gradually. These are common indicators that betting is moving from entertainment to a harmful pattern. If several of these apply to you or someone you know, take action now.

Chasing Losses

Placing larger or more frequent bets to try to recover money already lost in the same or recent sessions.

Betting With Essential Money

Using funds meant for rent, bills, groceries or family needs to place bets or top up your account balance.

Hiding Gambling From Others

Concealing the amount of time or money spent gambling from family members or close friends.

Gambling to Escape Problems

Using gambling sessions as a way to avoid or cope with stress, anxiety, depression or difficult personal situations.

Unable to Stop or Cut Back

Repeated unsuccessful attempts to reduce gambling frequency or spend, or an inability to stop once a session has started.

Escalating Stakes

Needing to bet progressively larger amounts of PKR to feel the same level of excitement as earlier, smaller bets provided.

Neglecting Responsibilities

Missing work commitments, family time or social obligations in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad or elsewhere because of time spent gambling.

Borrowing to Gamble

Taking loans, borrowing from family or selling personal assets to fund deposits or cover gambling-related debts.

Preoccupation With Gambling

Spending significant time thinking about past or future bets even when not actively gambling — during work, meals or family time.

Ask Yourself These Questions

Honest answers to these questions can help you recognise whether your gambling habits need to change. If you answer "yes" to three or more, we strongly encourage you to use the self-exclusion tool or contact support.

1 Have you ever spent more on gambling than you originally intended to in a single session?
2 Have you ever bet money that was needed for essential expenses like rent, bills or food?
3 Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently, even when you are not actively playing?
4 Have you felt the need to increase the size of your bets to get the same level of excitement?
5 Have you ever tried to stop or cut back on gambling but found it difficult or impossible?
6 Have you ever gambled to escape stress, sadness, anxiety or problems in your personal or professional life?
7 Have you ever hidden your gambling activity — including your deposits or losses — from family or friends?
8 Have you ever borrowed money or sold possessions to fund gambling or to pay back gambling debts?

If you answered yes to three or more of these questions: your gambling may be becoming harmful. Please contact 97pak support immediately to activate a self-exclusion or cooling-off period. You can also reach out to a mental health professional or counselling service for support. Recognising the pattern is the first step — acting on it is the most important one.

Practical Tips for Responsible Play on 97pak

These habits will help keep gambling enjoyable and prevent it from becoming a source of financial or personal harm.

Decide in advance exactly how much PKR you are prepared to spend in a given week or month, and set that as your deposit limit before you make your first deposit. Limits set before you start are far more effective than limits set mid-session when emotions are running high after a PSL match or a live casino run.

Your gambling budget should come entirely from discretionary income — money left over after rent, household bills, groceries and any other essential costs are covered. Treating your gambling account as an extension of your salary or emergency fund is one of the fastest paths to financial harm. Keep it separate and keep it capped.

Chasing losses — placing bigger or more frequent bets to win back what you have already lost — is the single most common trigger for escalating harm. Losses are a normal part of gambling. The amount you lost in a session is gone. Placing more bets to recover it does not change the underlying odds; it only puts more money at risk. When you hit your loss limit, stop.

Enable reality checks in your account settings. A brief on-screen summary of how long you have been playing and how much you are up or down makes it much harder to lose track of time during a long cricket or casino session. Set a session timer that prompts you to stop and evaluate after a fixed period — 30 minutes, 1 hour or whatever feels right for your own pattern.

Gambling should be one activity among many, not the central focus of your leisure time. Scheduling regular breaks — days or weeks without logging in — keeps gambling in perspective and prevents it from crowding out other activities, relationships and responsibilities. If you find that taking a break feels difficult, that is itself a warning sign worth taking seriously.

Impaired judgement — whether from alcohol, extreme stress, frustration after a bad day, or the euphoria of a big win — leads to poor decision-making and inflated stakes. The best 97pak sessions are played with a clear head and a pre-set budget. If you are in a heightened emotional state, log out and come back when you are thinking clearly.

Support Resources & How to Get Help

If you believe your gambling is causing harm — financially, personally or emotionally — help is available. Below are the channels through which 97pak can support you directly, and a reminder to seek professional counselling if needed.

97pak Live Chat

Our support team is available 24/7 via live chat on the platform. They can activate self-exclusion, set limits or initiate a cooling-off period immediately on your request. No judgement, no questions — just practical action.

Email Support

For non-urgent responsible-gambling requests, contact us at [email protected]. Our team responds within 24 hours Pakistan Standard Time (UTC+5) and will process your request as a priority.

Professional Counselling

If gambling is seriously affecting your mental health, finances or relationships, we encourage you to seek support from a qualified mental health professional or licensed counselling service in your city — Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi or elsewhere in Pakistan.

Family & Community

Talking to a trusted family member or close friend about a gambling problem can be an important first step. Asking for support is not a sign of weakness — it is a practical way to create accountability and access help that is already close to you.

A Note on External Resources

Pakistan does not currently have a nationally funded gambling addiction helpline equivalent to those available in some international jurisdictions. If you are based in Pakistan and need support for problem gambling, we recommend speaking with a mental health professional, a licensed counsellor or a trusted medical doctor who can refer you to appropriate services in your city.

For players based in jurisdictions that do have formal responsible-gambling organisations (such as GamCare, Gamblers Anonymous international chapters or equivalent bodies in your territory), we encourage you to make use of those resources alongside any support 97pak can provide directly.
